Our Priorities and Objectives

  1. Governance & Accountability: Afghanistan continues to grapple with systemic corruption, hindering progress and undermining public trust. DOCA prioritizes efforts to promote transparency, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and combat corruption at all levels of governance.
  2. Peace Building: As one of the least peaceful countries in the world, Afghanistan remains plagued by conflict and instability. DOCA is committed to supporting peacebuilding initiatives, fostering dialogue, and addressing the root causes of violence to create a more peaceful and secure future for all Afghans.
  3. Women’s Rights: Afghanistan remains one of the most dangerous places for women, with widespread gender-based violence and discrimination. DOCA advocates for the protection and promotion of women’s rights, working to eliminate barriers to education, employment, and participation in public life.
  4. Education and Life Skills: With millions of children, particularly girls, out of school, DOCA prioritizes efforts to expand access to quality education and life skills training. Our focus is on supporting marginalized communities and overcoming barriers to learning, including restrictive policies and cultural norms.
  5. Clean Water and Hygiene: Access to clean drinking water and sanitation remains a significant challenge for many Afghans. DOCA works to improve water infrastructure, promote hygiene education, and ensure access to safe and clean water for all communities, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
  6. Food Security & Nutrition: Millions of Afghans continue to face food insecurity, exacerbated by conflict, economic instability, and environmental challenges. DOCA collaborates with partners to address food insecurity, promote sustainable agriculture practices, and improve nutrition outcomes for vulnerable populations.
  7. Enterprise Development: With a significant portion of the population living below the poverty line, DOCA prioritizes initiatives aimed at fostering economic opportunities, entrepreneurship, and livelihood development. We support small businesses, provide training and resources, and promote inclusive economic growth to alleviate poverty and build resilience.
  8. Lifesaving and Resilience: Afghanistan’s vulnerability to disasters is compounded by low socio-economic development and environmental degradation. DOCA focuses on building resilience, enhancing disaster preparedness, and implementing life-saving interventions to mitigate the impact of emergencies and protect vulnerable communities.
  9. Climate Change: Afghanistan is among the countries most affected by the impacts of climate change, including droughts, floods, and extreme weather events. DOCA advocates for climate action, promotes environmental conservation, and supports communities in adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate change through sustainable development practices.
